About Mount Vernon, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Mount Vernon is located in scenic Southern Illinois, approximately 80 miles northwest of Evansville, Indiana and 80 miles southeast of St. Louis. Known as the “King City,” Mount Vernon is home to a population of more than 15,000 residents and is the county seat of Jefferson County. The city’s temperate seasonal climate produces hot humid summers and moderately cold winters – perfect weather for enjoying the numerous year-round opportunities for outdoor sports and recreation that dominate the area.

Mount Vernon is located just twenty miles north of Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park, a popular recreation area overlooking Rend Lake, a 19,000-acre reservoir known for excellent catches of largemouth bass, channel catfish, crappie, and bluegill. The park is home to Rend Lake Resort, a luxury resort complex featuring first-class accommodations and a host of fabulous amenities that include an outdoor pool, tennis courts, luxury spa, multiple boat launches, and full-service marina. The park also features a state-of-the-art shooting complex and designated hunting zones for deer, turkey, pheasant, dove, and waterfowl.

Mount Vernon boasts nine community parks and the newly opened Aquatic Zoo, a safari-themed water park featuring a leisure pool, 6-lane lap pool, splash pad, waterslides, lazy river, and more. The city is home to three championship-caliber golf courses – Green Hills Country Club, Indian Lakes Golf Course, and Rend Lake Golf Course – and a number of hiking and biking trails that meander throughout the city.

Downtown Mount Vernon is home to an eclectic collection of shops, boutiques, restaurants, and historic structures that include the circa-1857 Greek Revival-style 5th District Appellate Courthouse and the Jefferson County Historical Village, a historic complex featuring a museum, nature trail, and historic buildings dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s.

Popular Mount Vernon attractions include the Granada Center for the Performing Arts, Hall of Honor Military Museum, and Cedarhurst Arts Center, a 90-acre visual and performing arts venue that is home to the Mitchell Museum, Shrode Art Center, and Goldman-Kuenz Sculpture Park. The center features year-round arts programs and is host of the annual Mount Vernon Art & Craft Fair, a three-day event held each September that showcases the works of over 100 local, regional, and national artists.

Conveniently situated at the crossroads of Interstate 57 and Interstate 64 in beautiful Southern Illinois, Mount Vernon is a great place to live, work, and raise a family!
