Marion is located in Williamson County, Illinois, approximately 20 miles east of Carbondale and 60 miles northwest of Paducah, Kentucky. The Marion Park District maintains and operates seven city parks, the Marion Aquatic Center, and the Boyton Street Community Center. The HUB is a 64,000-square foot state-of-the-art recreation facility featuring an aquatic center complete with competitive, recreational, and therapy swimming pools, waterslide, wading pool, and lazy river, as well as an indoor track, cycling room, fitness center, and full gymnasium. The Marion area features a number of championship-caliber golf courses, as well, that include the Links at Kokopelli, Lake of Egypt Country Club, and Chawnee Golf Club.
