About Thompsonville, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Thompsonville is located in Franklin County, Illinois, approximately ten miles east of West Frankfort and ten miles southeast of Benton. The town was initially established in 1811 along the banks of Prairie Creek by a group of settlers that included seven brothers from the Jordan family, who later built a fort along the creek that was an important way station and significant outpost during the War of 1812.

Present-day Thompsonville is home to a population of approximately 500 residents who enjoy the safe streets, affordable housing, and moderate seasonal climate that allows for year-round enjoyment of the beautiful Southern Illinois outdoors. Thompsonville is served by the Thompsonville Community Unit School District and Thompsonville Christian Jr. Academy, a Seventh-day Adventist school that operates under the direction of the Office of Education of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Thompsonville is located within striking distance of some of the finest outdoor sports and recreation in Southern Illinois. Popular fishing destinations include nearby Thompsonville Lake, Lake Moses, and West Frankfort City Lake, a 214-acre recreational lake situated five miles southwest of town that features an abundance of largemouth and smallmouth bass, channel catfish, crappie, and bluegill.

Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park is located just twenty miles northwest of the city. The park is home to Rend Lake, a popular destination for anglers who come from miles around to fish for largemouth bass, black and white crappie, channel catfish, and bluegill. Other park amenities include trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, camping and picnicking facilities, playgrounds, wildlife-viewing areas, and designated hunting zones for in-season hunts of pheasant, turkey, deer, and waterfowl.

Conveniently situated at the intersection of State Route 149 and State Route 34, Thompsonville is a great place to call home in Southern Illinois!
